Lasers and Injectables

UCSF Facial Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery offers a wide variety of office-based lasers and injectables. Injectables and laser treatments are relatively simple office procedures that Dr. Knott and Dr. Park perform that can help reverse these signs of aging, leaving you looking younger and refreshed.

Dermal fillers are FDA-approved and safe for use by most patients. Many of the fillers are made from substances found naturally in the body, or synthetically made to mimic natural substances or stimulate collagen production. These are injected directly into the skin of the targeted area to restore volume and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. At UCSF Facial Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, we offer patients several different dermal filler options in order to provide the best possible results for each individual's needs.

Laser treatments are minimally invasive cosmetic procedures used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and other skin irregularities. These techniques offer patients many advantages over traditional resurfacing procedures such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion, as they reduce the side effects of discomfort, bleeding and bruising. While these procedures are most commonly performed to treat the effects of aging, they can be performed on patients of any age who are looking to restore their skin to a smooth, clear complexion free of blemishes and other imperfections.

We also offer patients neuromodulator therapies, such as Botox®. These are derivatives of botulinum toxin used to diminish wrinkles produced by hyperfunctional facial muscles. When you smile, laugh, frown, or look puzzled, you contract the muscles of your face. Over time, these contractions produce furrows and wrinkles in the skin, especially around the eyes, between the eyebrows, and on the forehead. These lines can make you look older, sad, angry or tired. Treatment with neuromodulators such as Botox® helps to temporarily reduce muscle contractions and smooth skin wrinkles in the treatment area.
