The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF OHNS) is pleased to announce that we've retained our #4 national ranking for NIH grant funding for OHNS departments. This is based on the recently released 2021 National Institutes of Health (NIH) rankings compiled by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research.

"Congratulations to all of our principal investigators (PIs), scientists, and research teams for making this happen," says Andrew H. Murr, MD, FACS, UCSF OHNS professor and chairman. "And congratulations to our administrators for all of their dedication and hard work."

As a university, UCSF maintained a top spot among public institutes in NIH funding for the 15th year in a row, ranking fourth overall. The School of Medicine was ranked second overall nationally among schools of medicine and as the first among public schools in the field while the Schools of Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy ranked first among their peer institutions.
