New UCSF Health Redwood Shores Clinic Provides Greater Access to Care and OHNS Services for Bay Area Peninsula Residents

A new state-of-the-art medical suite in Redwood Shores is the newest Bay Area location for Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) services. The site opened its doors on December 1, 2021, and it is conveniently located to allow easy access for Peninsula patients – adults and children - seeking high level allergy/rhinology care and other quality nose and sinus care services from UC San Francisco.

"The new medical suite is part of UCSF OHNS' effort to meet the full spectrum of patients' otolaryngologic needs and provide care in new locations throughout the Bay Area, including Berkeley, Marin, Oakland, and San Francisco," says Michael Friduss, MD, a veteran physician who joined the faculty in August 2021. Dr. Friduss will staff the office along with fellow faculty members including David Conrad, MDJosé Gurrola II, MDPatricia Loftus, MDRahul Seth, MD and a team of audiologists including Rachel Smith, AuD, Jennifer Retana, AuD, and Karleung Cheung, AuD.

Situated near the main headquarters of Oracle in Redwood Shores, the medical suite is located at 2900 Whipple Avenue in Redwood City. OHNS services available at the UCSF Redwood Shores Specialty Care Clinic include audiology, general otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat care), pediatric otolaryngology and sinus issues and allergies. It's one of four UCSF Health locations on the Peninsula giving patients in these communities access to comprehensive, coordinated care from the best hospital in Northern California.

Diagnosis evaluated in OHNS include (in alphabetical order): allergic rhinitis, cosmetic surgery, CSF leak, eustachian tube dysfunction, facial plastics, general otolaryngology, hearing loss, in-office facial rejuvenation nasal obstruction, nasal polyps, pediatric otolaryngology, reconstruction after Moh's surgery, recurrent otitis media, recurrent pharyngitis, rhinoplasty, sinusitis, sleep apnea, thyroid cancer and thyroid nodules.
