The 2018 Merzenich Discovery Lecture occurred on Friday October 19th. Our guest lecturer was Dr. Patricia Leake who is now a Professor Emerita at UCSF after a long and distinguished career as the head of our Epstein Laboratory. Pat reviewed her career’s worth of experience in enhancing cochlear implant technology in her lecture entitled, “Improving Performance with Cochlear Implants: From Wires to Neurotrophin Gene Therapy”.
