UCSF OHNS Welcomes Dr. Howard Francis for the 2021 Schindler Lectureship

The 2021 Robert A. Schindler, MD Lecturer and visiting professor is Howard W. Francis, MD, MBA, FACS of the Duke University Health System. Dr. Francis is the Richard Hall Chaney, Sr., Distinguished Professor of Otolaryngology and the chair of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery and Communication Sciences.

Dr. Francis's lecture is titled, "Meeting the Moment: Academic OHNS in an Age of Change." It will take place on December 9, 2021, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at UCSF's Byer's Auditorium in Genetech Hall on the Mission Bay Campus. The lecture will both be presented live and available via live stream.

Dr. Francis received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, trained at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and completed a fellowship in neurotology and skull base surgery at Johns Hopkins. He also received his M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins.

The Schindler Lectureship is an endowed program in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF OHNS) that was established in 2004 by Dr. Robert A. Schindler and Janet Feinberg Schindler. Dr. Schindler was Chairman of UCSF OHNS from 1989 to 1999.
