US News & World Reports Ranks UCSF OHNS Fifth in the Nation

The UCSF Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery has been recognized for its outstanding patient care in the US News & World Report’s annual ranking of the nation’s best hospitals. Our department ranked number five in the nation and is the only OHNS department in California to break into the top ten this year. This top ranking is based on our record of patient safety, availability of advanced technologies, and the presence of a supportive and skilled nursing staff, among other metrics.

“This recognition is a testament to your hard work and the quality of the team ,” said Andrew H. Murr, MD, FACS chair of UCSF Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in a message to the department. “Congratulations on this acknowledgment!”

UCSF Medical Center is currently ranked number ninth amongst other hospitals in the nation by US News and World Report and is on the national Best Hospital Honor Roll for the 23rd time. To earn a spot on the honor roll, hospitals must deliver high quality of care across many specialties and conditions.
