The Boles Lectureship, an endowed program in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF OHNS), pays tribute to Dr. Roger Boles' service as the OHNS Chairman from 1974 to 1989.
The annual lectureship welcomes educators nationwide to speak on trending otolaryngology topics. D. Gregory Farwell, MD FACS MAMSE, Gabriel Tucker Professor and Chair Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, lectured during the 2024 installment.
Dr. Farwell's lecture, "Cancer Care for One…Personalizing Head and Neck Cancer Care," was given in the Byers Auditorium on the Mission Bay Campus. His educational objectives included identifying recent changes in head and neck cancer care paradigms incorporating patient-specific factors, appreciating critical patient-specific and disease-specific features that inform personalized care and appreciating radiomic and genetic factors that influence treatment response.
