Yi Cai, MD, chief resident at the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF OHNS), successfully matched into the sleep medicine fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, Perlman School of Medicine!
"Next year, Dr. Cai will be working with world-leaders in the fields of sleep medicine and sleep surgery," said chief of UCSF Division of Sleep Surgery, Jolie Chang, MD. "As you all would expect, Dr. Cai is very accomplished, and this fantastic match was well-deserved."
Dr. Cai will complete the 12-month, ACGME-accredited program to become a board-certified specialist in academic sleep medicine. Applicants to the highly competitive program must have completed a residency in otolaryngology, internal medicine, neurology, pediatrics, psychiatry, family medicine or anesthesiology. The program typically accepts three to five fellows each year.
