Robert A. Schindler Lecture focused on Barriers to Precision Inner Ear Medicine

The 2019 Robert A. Schindler, MD Lecturer and visiting professor was Anil K. Lalwani, MD who is Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Columbia University in New York.

Anil’s lecture was entitled, “Conquering the Barriers to Precision Inner Ear Medicine”. This was an especially poignant visiting professor choice as Anil is a 1991 graduate of the UCSF Otolaryngology Residency Program and also accomplished his fellowship in Otology/Neurotology at UCSF.

The lecture was held December 5 at UCSF's Byer's Auditorium in Genetech Hall on the Mission Bay Campus.

The Schindler Lectureship is an endowed program in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco that was established in 2004 by Dr. Robert A. Schindler and Janet Feinberg Schindler. Dr. Schindler was Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of California, San Francisco from 1989 to 1999.
