During our June graduation ceremony two outstanding OHNS faculty members were presented the resident selected awards for excellence in teaching and clinic expertise. This year’s Roger Boles, MD, Award for Excellence in Clinical Faculty Teaching was conferred to Patricia Loftus, MD, and the Francis A. Sooy, MD, Award for Clinical Excellence was awarded to Jeffrey Sharon, MD.
“This award is hands down the biggest honor I have received since become an attending,” said Dr. Loftus. “Getting to know, teach, and mentor our next generation of Otolaryngologists is what makes this job so fun and rewarding every single day."
“I was deeply honored to receive the Francis A. Sooy, MD Award,” says Dr. Sharon. “I am so proud of our graduating residents, who represent the very best ideals of caring, healing, and scholarship.”
The ceremony was held on Saturday, June 12th at the Mission Bay Conference center and was simultaneously broadcast live on Zoom for family, friends, and other supporters.
