Description

Skills training opportunity to perform microvascular surgery on live rodents, after training and exposure to the psychology and ergonomics of microvascular surgery.  Trainees will also have the opportunity to practice with rubber sheeting and biotubules.

  • Welcome, opening comments, station setup in lab

8:15:

  • Dr. Daniel Knott “Failing Flap Game”
  • Micro demonstration: positioning, suture handling, knot tying
  • Suture diaphragm practice

9:00:

  • Microtubule anastomosis (repeat 2-3 times)

9:45-12:00:

  • Rat microvascular anastomosis

11:30-12:30: lunch available for Groups A/B in Conference Room 318

12:00:
