Title:
Using natural language processing to chart the development of spoken language in children who are deaf/hard-of-hearing
Learning objectives:
- Describe how speech and language outcomes are measured in children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, and where current clinical assessment falls short.
- Evaluate what natural language processing adds to outcome tracking, along with its limitations for pediatric and atypical speech.
- Discuss how objective, longitudinal language measures could inform clinical decision-making around candidacy, device management, and follow-up.
