What to Expect From Your Visit

Preparing for Your Appointment
Before Your Visit:
- Bring all questionnaires and surveys sent to you.
- Gather and bring:
- Past medical and treatment records
- Pathology reports from previous biopsies
- Imaging results (CT or MRI scans)
- If possible, send this information in advance for review.
During Your Appointment
Initial Examination:
- Your provider will take a detailed history.
- A physical examination may include a nasal endoscopy:
- A camera used to evaluate your nose, sinuses, and skull base
- Numbing spray will be applied for comfort
- Takes less than a minute but provides valuable insights
Review of Existing Tests:
- If available, your provider will review:
- Tissue biopsy results
- Imaging studies (CT, MRI)
Additional Testing:
- If necessary, your provider may recommend:
- A biopsy (usually performed in-office)
- Additional imaging (scheduled for after your appointment)
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning
For Benign Tumors:
- Your provider will discuss surgical options and procedures.
For Malignant Tumors:
- Your case will be presented at the Multi-Disciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Tumor Board.
- Experts in pathology, radiology, surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy will review your case.
- A tailored treatment plan will be recommended, which may include surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation.
