On Match Day 2024, the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF OHNS) was excited to welcome 5 new members to our residency family:

  • Emily Honzel, Columbia University
  • Isaac Solomon, University of California San Diego
  • Ashley Stone, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
  • Woodi Woodland, University of Tennessee
  • Agnes Zhu, Mayo Clinic

"We are excited to congratulate and welcome the exceptional individuals who have matched with us,” says Steven Pletcher, MD, UCSF OHNS residency program director.

According to the National Resident Matching Program® (NRMP®), “a total of 50,413 applicants registered in the 2024 Main Residency Match, an all-time high and increase of 2,257 or 4.7 percent over last year.”

“The NRMP is proud to deliver the results of another successful Main Residency Match, and we congratulate all future physicians and training programs on this momentous occasion,” says NRMP President and CEO Donna L. Lamb, DHSc, MBA, BSN, on the NRMP website. “We are especially proud of applicants this year, many of whom began medical school the fall before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and had to quickly adapt to and thrive in a radically changed academic and training landscape. Their experiences and success speak to a remarkable resilience and dedication they will carry with them into practice.”

The residency program at UCSF OHNS is a five-year program in which trainees are exposed to all subspecialty areas within Otolaryngology and presented with the opportunity to work in multiple training environments. Learn more about the program.
