Kris Rosbe: Surgical Triad Leader

Dear Team,

I am pleased to announce that Kristina Rosbe, MD has been selected to be a member of the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Perioperative Leadership Team aka The Triad.This team includes representatives from surgery, anesthesia (Atsuko Baba, MD), and nursing administration and is designed to contribute to improving quality, efficiency, and strategy for the children’s hospital operating room environments.

She will work closely with our Surgeon-in-Chief, Hanmin Lee, MD, our COO, Jamie Phillips, our Chief of Pediatric Anesthesia, Maurice Zwass, MD, and our CMO, Stephen Wilson, MD in her new role.

Kris is well positioned to contribute her leadership vision to this endeavor.

Kris is a graduate of the UC CORO Leadership Collaborative training program and a graduate of the UCSF Teaching Scholars Program. She was the inaugural Chief of the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UCSF and has been instrumental in growing the division to its current size of 9 faculty members between UCSF Benioff San Francisco and UCSF Benioff Oakland. Kris herself has a robust clinical practice and has been active in pioneering salivary endoscopy in children which was the subject of her thesis for the Triological Society.

Kris is originally from Massachusetts. She graduated from Wellesley College, attended the Geisel Medical School at Dartmouth, and trained in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Kris went on to a 2 year fellowship in pediatric OHNS at Boston Children’s Hospital within the Harvard System.

Kris is the mother of two successful children (Ben and Maggie) and is married to Andy Auerbach, MD in the Division of Hospitalist Medicine at UCSF.
