Megan Durr, MD, FACS is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and Interim Chief of Otolaryngology at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. She is a general otolaryngologist and specializes in surgery for sleep apnea and snoring.

Dr. Durr received her bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana She then completed her medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore followed by and residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Durr offers comprehensive and individualized evaluations for patients considering surgery for sleep apnea and/or snoring. She specializes in drug induced sleep endoscopy, soft palate surgery, tongue base surgery and hypoglossal nerve stimulation implant surgery.

Dr. Durr performs research assessing surgical outcomes for sleep apnea therapies and access to sleep apnea surgery. She has received two Kaiser Permanente Community Benefits grants focused on her research interests. She is also a dedicated medical educator and is the residency site director for Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. In addition to many publications on sleep apnea surgery, she also has a research interest in graduate medical education and has been awarded several teaching awards.

She holds many national leadership roles within Otolaryngology and sleep apnea surgery. She regularly presents and national and international meetings discussing sleep apnea therapies. She is an Associate editor for the Laryngoscope journal and has served on the governing board of the Women in Otolaryngology national organization. She is a Triological Society fellow and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is also the Director of Quality for the UCSF Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
