Chérie Yung is Executive Assistant to Dr. Jennifer Grandis - Robert K. Werbe Distinguished Professor, and
Dr. Daniel Johnson - Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Otolaryngology. She provides
executive support, and oversees finance and accounting matters for the Head and Neck Lab.
Chérie is Lead of the Faculty Assistants Team, overseeing the administration work of the team. Also, she
is the coordinator for the department Grand Rounds and Tumor Board.
Chérie joined the University of California, San Francisco in 2019 after working for some 25 years in
domestic and international corporations: She worked as Director of Human Resources and International
Development for Telava Networks, Inc., a San Francisco-based technology company, and as an
Administrative Officer at the Hong Kong Society of Accountants. Prior to that, Chérie was a Desktop
Publisher of the Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) at the University of California, Berkeley. Later, as
Web Designer of Law & FID divisions at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Hong Kong Ltd. As Senior Graphic
Designer of then–renowned Pro-Market Limited in Hong Kong, Chérie had produced 3 outstanding
product designs which won universal recognitions.
Since1985, Chérie was involved as an active volunteer for Special Olympics International, Special
Olympics Asia Pacific Programs in sports coaching, graphic designs and assisting Chairman of Asia Pacific
Regional.
Chérie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon. Over the past two decades,
she has attended numerous professional management & technical training programs.
