Anna Meyer, MD, is a Professor of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology, the Roger Boles MD Academy Chair in Otolaryngology Education, Medical Director of Patient Experience for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital - San Francisco, and a coach in the Bridges Curriculum in the UCSF School of Medicine. She is also faculty in the Academy of Communication in Healthcare.

She received her medical degree from UCSF, and completed her Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Michigan, followed by a Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship from the Children's Memorial Hospital/Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago.

Clinically Dr. Meyer focuses on hearing and ear surgery, while also practicing a wide range of pediatric otolaryngology. She is a member of the interprofessional care team of the Children's Communication Center that provides comprehensive care to children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH). She also in nationally-recognized for her advocacy for evidence-based ethical care of infants and mothers with breastfeeding difficulties

Dr. Meyer’s research interests and creative work focus on health justice, medical education, communication in healthcare, and narrative medicine.

Dr. Meyer is a member of the Academy of Communication Healthcare, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Cochlear Implant Alliance.
