Voice & Swallowing Center

UCSF Voice & Swallowing Center Mission

The mission of the center is to provide state-of-the-art care for patients, develop technology for the diagnosis and management of upper airway disorders, participate in research for improved understanding of voice and swallowing disorders, and develop educational programs for trainees interested in the field of laryngology.

It is our philosophy that all patients complaining of difficulty with their voice, breathing, or swallowing benefit from meticulous examination and state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic strategies from one or all of our healthcare providers including Laryngologists, Physician Assistants (PAs), or Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and sub-specialized Speech Language Pathologists. Additionally, our team has particular expertise in managing professional and semi-professional voice users - from amateur choristers and teachers to nationally-known vocalists and lecturers. Specialized procedures are utilized in both diagnosis and treatment of our patients.

UCSF Voice & Swallowing Center partners with the San Francisco Opera to keep singers healthy.
