UCSF Otolaryngology Innovation Center

Mission:

The UCSF Otolaryngology Innovation Center is a collaborative group of healthcare professionals, scientists, and entrepreneurs focused on developing innovative health technology, with a special emphasis on otolaryngology. Our mission is to drive the development of healthcare devices and digital health solutions that address critical unmet needs in the clinical field. Our experts lead the way at the intersection of otolaryngology, research, and computer science. The Center also initiates programs to foster innovation and encourage collaboration among academic institutions, industry leaders, and policymakers to facilitate successful clinical adoption.

Value Experience:

We educate and support aspiring innovators by connecting them with leading corporations and organizations in the health technology sector. Our community also promotes collaboration and networking among industry members for clinical trials, focus groups, and investigator-initiated research projects. The Center hosts quarterly meetings and offers seed grants to foster collaboration, innovation, and mentorship. Our events include key guest speakers from the industry and academia, providing members with opportunities for mentorship and professional development.

We assist members in developing commercially viable solutions and enhancing their entrepreneurial and consulting skills. We also help match job opportunities and externships with talented individuals from UCSF. Sponsors have the opportunity to receive direct feedback from end-users and stakeholders in the healthcare system and test their ideas. Our goal is to form a synergistic partnership between UCSF and Silicon Valley to accelerate high-impact technology solutions in otolaryngology for better patient care.

Our offerings include:

  1. Seed grant funding for innovation
  2. Monthly meetings to foster dialogue and the exchange of ideas
  3. Quarterly seminars with guest speakers from faculty and industry
  4. Mentorship and networking opportunities with UCSF faculty and industry experts
