AAO-HNS's system for acknowledging exceptional service includes the presentation of Distinguished Service Awards. Members are acknowledged with honor points for their involvement in various activities and leadership positions. The Distinguished Service Award is an accolade that acknowledges volunteer service exceeding the criteria for an Honor Award.

An Honor Award can only be earned once in a lifetime, however, there is no limit on how many Distinguished Service Awards a member can receive. Dr. Rosen received the Honor Award back in 2000. This is his third time being honored with a Distinguished Service Award from the Academy.

"It is humbling to receive this acknowledgment of my service to the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery," said Dr. Rosen. "It has been an honor and privilege to support the goals of this important institution for Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery."
