UCSF/Stryker 5th Annual Advanced Resident Antero-Lateral Skull Base Approaches - September 4-6, 2014

This course was developed for senior neurosurgical and otolaryngology residents by experienced academic neurosurgeons and otolaryngology surgeons. Attendees will be given a comprehensive series of didactic lectures and case discussions on open and endoscopic approaches to the skull base. There will also be a series of modules in the anatomy lab covering these open and endoscopic approaches.
 

Upon completion of this course the attendee will be able to:
• Understand Endoscopic Paranasal Sinus Anatomy Relevant to Skull Base Approaches
• Perform Endoscopic Approaches to the Anterior and Central Skull Base
• Perform Open Approaches to the Anterior Cranial Fossa
• Perform Open Lateral Approaches to the Middle Cranial Fossa and Central Skull Base
• List the relative merits of open versus endoscopic approaches to anterior, central, and lateral skull base lesions
