The Sooy Lectureship is a program in the Department of Otolaryngology -Head and Neck Surgery, at the University of California, San Francisco that honors the memory of Dr. Francis A. Sooy. Dr. Sooy was Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery from 1958 to 1972. He served as UCSF’s fourth Chancellor from 1972 to 1982, following which he was Professor of Otolaryngology until his passing in 1986.
