140.01A Advanced Inpatient - Parnassus
This clerkship is in general otolaryngology - head and neck surgery and includes the diagnosis and treatment of common head and neck disorders. Both inpatient and outpatient experiences will be offered. (Offered as a two-week, non-advanced elective.)

140.01B Advanced Inpatient - VA
This clerkship is in general otolaryngology - head and neck surgery
and includes the diagnosis and treatment of common head and neck
disorders. Both inpatient and outpatient experiences will be offered.
(Offered as a two-week, non-advanced elective.)

140.01C Advanced Inpatient - SFGH
This clerkship is in general otolaryngology - head and neck surgery and includes the diagnosis and treatment of common head and neck disorders. Both inpatient and outpatient experiences will be offered. (Offered as a two-week, non-advanced elective.)

140.01F Advanced Head and Neck Suregery
This clerkship is in head and neck surgery and includes the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck neoplasms. Both inpatient and outpatient experiences will be offered. (Offered as a two-week, advanced elective.)

140.02: Off - Campus Clinical Clerkship
This off-campus clinical clerkship in an approved hospital is scheduled by special arrangement and requires the approval of the dean and the department; obtain the necessary forms in the Office of Curricular Affairs.

140.03 Otology and Neurotology
Students learn the diagnosis and management of the diseases of the ear and skull base; surgery for hearing restoration; removal of ear and skull base neoplasms; treatment of vertigo; and basic audiometric and vestibular testing. Recommended Text or Reading: Clinical Otology (2’nd Ed). (Hughes GB & Pensak ML, Eds). Thieme, 1997.

140.04 Introduction to Facial Plastic Surgery
This clerkship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery will include the diagnosis and treatment of common problems associated with trauma, congenital and aging-related changes in the facial area. Both inpatient and outpatient experiences will be offered.

150.01 Research
Students participate in a research project under the direction of a member of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. This course requires the consent of the dean and department; obtain the necessary forms in the Office of Curricular Affairs.
